Multiple Intelligences

For my multiple intelligences I composed a short story, entitled, "The Spy Whose Shoes Squeaked". This was too much fun. I wanted ti to be good writing and I feel like it is some of the best I have produced to date. The difficulty of it was trying to weave in some Ed Psych without it being obtuse. You know, so you could read it and feel like you weren't being beaten over the head with the idea. So the psychological themes are subtle, tucked away, glanced upon, but if you know what to look for they are clearly there.
I've loved the idea of schema since the first day I learned about them. It just makes so much sense, so I wanted to talk about building schema, assimilation, accomadation, and disequilibrium. Those are the big topics to be found here. I also wove in a little bit of Eriksons Identity vs. Role Confusion. There character is old enough to be past that stage formally but we all remember the fact that we deal with these crisis all throughout life.
This was pretty time consuming. The story took a big turn that I didn't expect and that required re-writing, re-tooling, and re-thinking. I had originally envisioned the story as pretty comical, slapstickish, I mean a spy with squeaky shoes. Get it? But from the first sentence it had a very contemplative tone, almost metacognitive-esque. I also hit several writer's blocks, and had to plow past them, but reading it now I am so pleased. I really do think it is one of my best works yet.
